Hi there, my name is Emily Cross and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing services in Aptos, California.
I specialize in working with adults, teens and children struggling with big feelings, overwhelm and feeling stuck. Many times we get stuck going through challenging transitions such as entering adulthood, motherhood or some crisis in your life. Feelings of hopelessness can paralyze us from movement or getting the help we need. I urge you to reach out and give me a call.
I especially love working with children who are highly sensitive and may struggle with anxiety. Being a highly sensitive person myself, I connect quickly with highly sensitive kids who may need a someone to help them with their big emotions.
When working with kids and teens, I like to include the parents as much as possible as I believe the parents are the healing agents to the kids.
Therapy may seem like an uncertain step to take. I want to encourage you to give it a try.
I personally was at a hopeless place in my life when a therapist was my ticket to a life worth living. I know from experience. We were not meant to do this alone.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT) which addresses the thought patterns, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which is an empowering approach to managing feelings and building a life worth living.
I am a Christian and have worked with people from all faiths or religion and I do not impose my beliefs in session. Faith is integrated in session if requested.
I love being a mama and am currently homeschooling my two boys. I love nature, the outdoors, flowers and the ocean. I also have a passion for children's literature. I have been married since 2003 to my darling husband.
